Software and features

What teachers can do with a digital whiteboard

The panel runs on its own, the way a tablet does. No laptop trolley, no login queue, no waiting for IT.

  • Write over anything

Annotate on top of a webpage, a video, a worksheet or a live document, then save the whole thing as it looked on screen.

  • Share any screen

Teachers and students cast from a laptop, tablet or phone without cables or a dongle. Several devices can be up at once for group work.

  • Sign in with a tap

Tap a card and your own files, apps and settings load. Tap out and the next teacher gets theirs. Nothing is left on the board between classes.

  • Live captions and translation

Captions appear as the teacher speaks and can translate on the fly, which matters in classrooms with newcomer students or hearing support needs.

  • Polls and quizzes on the spot

Put a question up mid-lesson and every student answers from their own device. Results show on the board straight away, so you see who is following.

  • Send the lesson home

The board turns what happened in class into notes students can take away, including anything written on screen. Useful for absences and revision.

Included as standard

What comes with every interactive display

  • Three year warranty

Parts and labour covered. No separate service contract to negotiate, and loaner units available for rooms that cannot go without.

  • Installation

Certified technicians mount the panel, run the cabling out of reach and calibrate touch, colour and sound for the room.

  • Free lifetime staff training

A hands-on session for teachers, support staff and IT, with guides left on site and a recording for anyone who missed it. On OneScreen panels, live help and refresher sessions stay free for the life of the display, so new starters and later intakes are covered too.

What Canadian schools say

Replaced the projectors in six rooms over the summer break. Install was done when they said it would be. The main difference for us is that staff just walk in and start, no cable, no waiting for a laptop to wake up. One teacher who never touched the old board uses this one every day.

Writing on it feels close to a whiteboard, which I did not expect. I use the quiz thing a few times a week and it has been good for getting answers out of students who never put a hand up. Took me about a week to stop thinking about how to use it.

Nine panels across two floors. From my side the useful part is that I can push settings and updates out without going room to room, and teachers sign in with a card so there is no shared password to reset. Barely hear from those rooms now.

See the smart board running before you decide

A specialist shares the interactive display live and works through it with your staff on a call. Writing feel, casting from a laptop, sign-in, the lesson tools. Bring whoever needs convincing and ask whatever you want. It usually takes half an hour.

Questions

Interactive whiteboard questions schools usually ask

  • Nothing, in practice. Smart board, interactive whiteboard, digital whiteboard, electronic whiteboard and interactive flat panel all describe the same thing: a large touchscreen at the front of the room that replaces a projector and a dry erase board. Schools use the names interchangeably and so do we. The only difference worth knowing is age. Boards sold ten years ago were a projector aimed at a touch sensitive surface, which is where the whiteboard name came from. Everything on this page is a single screen with the computer built in, so there is no projector, no bulb to replace and no shadow when someone stands in front of it.
  • No. Every interactive whiteboard here runs on its own. Turn it on and the whiteboard, browser, files and apps are there. You can still connect a laptop or desktop if a teacher prefers it, and most schools keep that option in one or two rooms.
  • Not on current panels. Response times are now under a few milliseconds, so ink appears under the tip rather than trailing it. All the models here also separate pen, finger and palm, so a student can rest a hand on the glass while writing.
  • Between 40 and 50 separate touch points depending on the model, so three or four students can work side by side without the board losing track. For a single teacher presenting, 20 would be enough. The higher counts matter for group work and student collaboration.
  • Yes. Every panel here is Google certified or ships a certified Android module, so Workspace and the Play Store run natively rather than through a workaround. Microsoft 365, Teams and Zoom all run alongside. If your district uses ClassLink or Clever for sign-in, several models sync directly with those too.
  • That is set by policy rather than the hardware. Your IT team decides whether staff can install from the app store themselves or whether apps are pushed centrally. All the panels here support central management, so settings, apps and updates can be controlled across every room from one console.
  • Normal use is light. Screen casting from student devices is the heaviest part, and if a whole class casts at once on older access points you will notice it. All the models here support Wi-Fi 6 or 6E, and you can also run them on wired network. If you are putting panels in a lot of rooms at once, send us your access point details with your request and we will flag anything worth checking.
  • These are commercial grade interactive displays rated for continuous daily use, not consumer televisions. Rated panel life runs to around 50,000 hours, which is well beyond a normal refresh cycle. Every display we supply carries a three year warranty on parts and labour.
  • Mounting, installation and staff training are already included in what we quote. The variable is software licensing, which some brands include permanently and others bill per teacher each year. We show both lines separately so the comparison is real. Send your requirements and you will have the full figure the next business day.
  • Yes. We run an online demo where a specialist walks through the panel live and answers questions from your staff, which is the quickest way to compare two models without waiting on shipping. Ask for a demo in your request and say which models you want to see.
